Gr 4-8: Slice of Life: Adaptations

Grade 4-8

Focusing on biodiversity and ecozones from Saskatchewan both past and present.  Join an RSM interpreter to tour the life science gallery dioramas and explore the differences in climate, landforms and biodiversity present in the ecozones of Saskatchewan present.   Explore portions of the Earth Sciences gallery to compare the biodiversity, landforms and climate of Saskatchewan in the Late Cretaceous to the present and learn how our province has changed over time.

Explore the diversity and beauty of Saskatchewan landscapes. The province has four ecozones, the Taiga Shield, the Boreal Shield, the Boreal Plain, and the Prairie, which are further divided into 11 ecoregions shown in the above video. Each of the ecozones and ecoregions are depicted in great detail through our award winning dioramas and displays.

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum and T.rex Discovery Centre are situated on Treaty 4 territory, the ancestral and traditional territory of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. We respect and honour the Treaties that were made on all territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we are committed to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous Nations in the spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
