Canada Day with Scotty

T. rex Discovery Centre
Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 10:00am - 6:00pm

Celebrate Canada Day with us at the T.rex Discovery Centre in the Town of Eastend.

  • We'll be hosting a BBQ with free hot dogs and pop starting at 11:30 a.m.
  • Take part in our Canada Day scavenger hunt; every completed scavenger hunt gets a prize!
  • Visit the Paleo Lab Experience and see staff work on "Frankie" the Triceratops and "Emily" the Brontothere. Watch these fossils resurface again after being fossilized for millions of years.
  • Check out the two new life-size Thescelosaurus casts on display alongside Scotty, the world's largest T. rex. Thescelosaurus were relatively common in the late Cretaceous Saskatchewan, about 76 to 66 million years ago.
  • The Discovery Theatre runs two films daily, the story of Scotty's discovery or the all-new, critically acclaimed film, T.REX.
  • Explore the beautiful landscape of the Frenchman River Valley on the hiking trails situated around the Discovery Centre.
