SGI Solstice Speaker Series: Michael Greyeyes
As an Indigenous leader, Michael Greyeyes understands the power of language and the words we use to describe our future serve as medicine to remake the world around us. His keynote discussion, “We Will Write Our Way Out of This”, will highlight his interest in the current snapshot of our world--where inequity and violence are often times on display-- and showcase how individual creative impulses can serve as healing solutions and direction, in a time where reliance or deference to Artificial Intelligence is taking place. Throughout the evening, Michael will use his experience in contemporary film and television to display Indigenous leadership, cultural knowledge, and responsibility to the future.
Michael Greyeyes (Nêhiyaw) is a multi-hyphenate talent – actor, writer, choreographer, and director from Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan.
