Birding by Ear
Join Dr. Ryan Fisher in the Museum boardroom to discover why and when birds sing. Learn some tricks for identifying some common birds in Regina by sound alone.
Birding in and around Regina is a great pastime. There are an amazing number of different birds that call our city home. However, it can sometimes be frustrating to identify birds that can only be heard but not seen! This program will cover why birds sing and when. Then show you tricks for identifying common birds in Regina by sound alone. Ryan is the Curator of Vertebrate Zoology and an avid bird lover! He’s had over 20 years of experience researching birds in Western Canada. And when not doing research, you’ll probably find him out with his trusty pair of binoculars scouring the landscape for birds!
