The “Elder in the Making” documentary featuring two young urban dwellers, one a Blackfoot Aboriginal named Cowboy and the other a Chinese-Canadian newcomer named Chris, who embark on a spiritual journey across traditional Blackfoot territory.

Guided by the wisdom of modern day Elders, they find the beginnings of the long road to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.  Through the journey of two unlikely travel companions, this film uncovers our responsibility as stewards of the land and of the generations yet to come.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with introductions starting at 6:15 p.m. and the film begins at 6:30 p.m. It will then be followed by a discussion with director Chris Hsiung and Life Speaker Noel Starblanket. A reception will be held in the lobby at 8:30 p.m., catered by Dickie the Sioux Chef. Enjoy bison meatballs, mixed squash potato swirls and sweet fry bread with caramel and chocolate drizzle. No pre-registration required.
