Do you love nature and music? Do you write songs or want to learn how?

Through this semester-long project, you will work with local songwriters Megan Nash, Ryan Hicks, and Glenn Sutter, to generate song ideas and lyrics inspired by the Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area (NWA). You’ll go on a chaperoned field trip to the NWA in September, where you’ll learn about song structure and strategies for crafting lyrics and melodies. You’ll also capture your impressions of this amazing place through photography, visual art or whatever means you like. You’ll then work with the facilitators to develop your ideas and songs for a museum exhibit called Nature Inspires and a public performance to be held at the RSM in December. You’ll even contribute to research!

Space is limited!  If you’re interested sign up soon or let us know ASAP.

What's included?

We will provide transportation, tents, meals, facilitated songwriting sessions, and recording equipment.
