Board of Directors (Volunteer Position)

The Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum is looking for motivated individuals to fill three vacancies on its Board of Directors.

The Friends is a non-profit organization which provides services and financial assistance to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Board members sit on various committees, including the Friends’ Governance Committee and its Audit & Finance Committee.

Time Commitment

Board meetings are typically scheduled on a Tuesday during the first half of September, November, January, March, and May from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., and are held in the Museum’s conference room. Board members typically spend 2 – 3 hours per month fulfilling their responsibilities to the Board. Attendance at the Board’s major annual fundraising event is expected. Board members will also be asked to assist with ticket sales for said event.


We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about promoting and preserving Saskatchewan’s natural history and indigenous cultures. Legal, natural science, museum, external relations, or grant writing backgrounds are considered as an asset, but not required. Individuals with strong community affiliations are a perfect fit for the position. We encourage all interested persons to apply. Candidates must 18 years or older.
