Teacher Supervised Visit

Teachers and group leaders are welcome to lead their classes through our galleries without a Museum Instructor. The following guidelines will help you plan your visit:

  1. Inform the Museum prior to your visit by using our online form or calling 306-787-2815 with the date, time, length of visit, grade, number of students/chaperones, and contact info.
  2. Please have enough chaperones to ensure the students are supervised at all times. We recommend dividing the students into smaller groups; each with an adult.
  3. No food or drink (including gum and candy) are allowed in the galleries. Museum classrooms are located in the galleries. Please inform chaperones to leave the coffee cups at home!
  4. Only pencils are to be used in the galleries. No markers, pens or crayons are allowed. The front desk can lend you pencils and clipboards during your visit.
  5. Upon arrival, our staff will give your group an orientation to the museum and go over some of the expectations for behavior. They may take you into the auditorium where you can leave your coats, bags and winter boots (a change of indoor shoes is greatly appreciated). Keep valuables with you.
  6. We will be without an elevator until early 2018. Learn more here.
  7. Have a question when you return to class?  Email us at Education Programs or contact one of our research scientists with our Ask A Curator form.
