Solifugids, or sun spiders, are aggressive hunters with huge jaws, and lots of attitude. However, despite the scary appearance and ability to inflict a painful bite, they are not poisonous. They are found mostly in dry areas, but spend much of their time burrows. At least two species occur in western Canada, one in Saskatchewan. Interestingly, the hard "jaws" of solifugids have been found in owl pellets in the province.
